The Housing Authority of Henderson was established in 1949 by the Henderson City Commission to administer a federal rent subsidy program authorized under the United States Housing Act of 1937.
The Housing Authority’s general operation is overseen by the Board of Commissioners, the members are appointed by the Mayor. The Board of Commissioners consists of six members appointed for a four-year term except the resident commissioner, who is appointed for a two-year term.
The day to day operations of the Housing Authority is carried out by the Executive Director who manages all agency departments and activities which include administration of the Section 8 Program and related special programs.
